Interior detail of Mountain Hemlock Tree from the perspective of a tree well. .
Native to the west coast, Mountain Hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana) is primarily found along the Cascade Range between Oregon and Alaska. Slow growing and long lived, these Hemlock reach heights between 60-130ft over the course of their 800 year life span. Unusually hearty trees, they are both shade tolerant, and in Alaska, act as pioneer trees on glacial moraines.
