Rising 11,2249 along the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area along the Oregon/Washington border, Mt. Hood is a Stratovolcano that formed about 500,000 where it now keeps watch of the Gorge with alongside Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier---each within eyeshot of one another.
