Fences: Indigo Autumn on the Kapowsin Highway
Mt. Rainier as wiewed from the West on Kapowsin Highway.
Late afternoon in Autumn on Kapowsin Highway. In the distance, the west face Mt. Rainier looms of 14,411 ft. over the horizon in indigo and blue striking a bold pose against the yellow ochre autumn has painted the land.
In the foreground, an ancient and ubiquitous farmer trick is in play. In the place where two trees were felled, tree stumps were left at just the right height to make a fence ladder for wanderers and Ne'er-do-well photographers.
